Speciality Fellowship in Robotic Surgery (FRS - Speciality)

Introduction

The specialty fellowship titled “Fellowship in Robotic Surgery (FRS) - Specialty” comprises of a 3 month clinical residency in the chosen speciality and in the robotic platform of choice. The program will adhere to UGC guidelines and be recognized as a medical degree conferred by Sri Ramachandra University, with affiliation to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and associated credit points.

The fellowship is open to candidates who completed FARIS certification. Those who wanted to have a dedicated speciality based intense hands-on training can avail this 3 month fellowship as a continuation of their FARIS degree. Eligible candidates will receive detailed program information and key dates upon acceptance of application.

Accredited “Center of Excellence” hospitals will be authorized to host the specialty fellowship residency program. Candidates are expected to carefully review the provided guidelines, adhere to the program requirements.

Fellows who successfully complete the program will be honoured during the convocation ceremony at the Annual ARIS Congress, following final approval from the fellowship board.

Typical Fellowship Journey

The candidate will apply for fellowship in one of the eligible speciality based on the required platform. Once approved, the fellowship journey typically can be taken up in the allotted centre of excellence:

The highlight of the speciality fellowship includes:

  • Three month full time clinical residency in one of the eligible centre of excellence in the given speciality

  • The program will effectively be available through out the year and the candidate will attend as per the availability of the COE.

  • Candidate will obtain the degree after the successful submission of their logbook and COE director’s assessment.

Course Fee

FRS clinical fellowship attracts a fee of Rs.1,00,000 (One Lakh) for Indian nationals and $1500 for international delegates. Eligible govt taxes are extra. The course fees doesn’t include accommodation and travel charges.
